Consent & Legal Basis by Jurisdiction

4.1 โ€” EU / EEA (GDPR + ePrivacy Directive)

We are required to obtain freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous prior consent before placing any non-essential cookies. We present “Accept All” and “Reject All” with equal prominence. Consent boxes are never pre-ticked. We maintain records of your consent. The AEPD (Spain) actively enforces these requirements; our banner is designed to comply fully with AEPD guidelines.

4.2 โ€” UK (UK GDPR + PECR)

Substantively the same requirements as Section 4.1. The ICO oversees compliance. We comply with UK PECR in full.

4.3 โ€” United States

  • California (CCPA/CPRA): A “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link is in our website footer. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from California users automatically.
  • Other US states: We honour opt-out requests from users in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with applicable privacy laws.

4.4 โ€” Canada

Express consent is required for advertising cookies. Our Cookie Consent Banner obtains express consent before activating advertising cookies for Canadian users.

4.5 โ€” Australia

Cookies that collect personal data are subject to Australian Privacy Principles. We apply the same consent standards for Australian users as for Canadian users.

05

How to Manage & Control Cookies

5.1 โ€” Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit quizinq.com, our Cookie Consent Banner will appear with three options: Accept All, Reject All (strictly necessary only), or Manage Preferences (toggle each category individually). You can change preferences at any time via “Cookie Settings” in the website footer.

5.2 โ€” Browser Controls

5.3 โ€” Mobile Device Settings

  • Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads > Reset advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation.
  • iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking > disable “Allow Apps to Request to Track”.

5.4 โ€” Third-Party Opt-Out Tools

5.5 โ€” Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognise and honour GPC signals. If your browser is configured to send a GPC signal, we will treat it as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal data under applicable US state privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA). This applies automatically.

5.6 โ€” Do Not Track (DNT)

There is no universally accepted standard for DNT signals. We recommend using our Cookie Consent Banner or a GPC-enabled browser to manage your preferences. We honour GPC signals but do not currently alter practices in response to DNT alone.

06

Cookies & International Data Transfers

Some cookies set by third-party providers result in data being transferred outside the EEA, including to the United States. These transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or the UK IDTA as applicable. See our Privacy Policy (Section 9) for full details.

07

Third-Party Cookie Providers

We do not control third-party cookies directly. For questions about how these providers use your data, please contact them directly.

08

Retention of Cookie Consent Records

We maintain records of your cookie consent choices โ€” including the date and time of consent, the version of the Cookie Policy in effect, and the specific choices made โ€” for a period of 3 years. These records are stored securely and are not shared with third parties except as required by law.

09

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use, new legal requirements from regulators including the AEPD (Spain), ICO (UK), FTC (US), OPC (Canada), or OAIC (Australia), or changes to third-party providers. The most current version is always available at quizinq.com/cookie-policy/.
